The resilience of the dandelion: A story of hope, change and potential

A visual story of hope and change. In April 2020, as the first lockdown started, Vivienne brought a single dandelion into her studio. The beauty of how it unexpectedly evolved and eventually stayed became a metaphor for Vivienne ongoing projects.

Despite the challenges  —  this plant that is known as a common perennial weed — showed remarkable resilience, symbolising freedom, happiness, health, perseverance, and resistance.

But it is fascinating that the dandelion is so much more than just a weed, it is also used for medicinal purposes and as a food source.

Each parachute — like structure the pappus has all the potential to create its own change — blowing its fluffy seeds creates new life with unlimited possibilities. One dandelion can re-wild a field — our small actions can collectively cultivate more hopeful changes.
